Silence is like snow after all.
It will fall, if you let it,
all around you.
It will surround you and grow deep
until you are compact in it
and can neither act
nor speak.

Nice.
My poem was written in response to Kay Ryan’s “Silence,” published in her collection Elephant Rocks (1996) and included in her anthology The Best of It (2010).
